Exercise : The Best Perscription

Most of us know that exercise makes you feel better, but it is also a proven disease fighter. Those suffering with depression or anxiety, diabetes and arthritis know this first hand. But what about serious diseases like Cancer?
On the next show, we talk with a Cancer survivor and a health care professional that works with Cancer patients every day. They'll tell us the ways in which intense exercise helps fight the disease and also lessen the side effects for those that are stricken.
We'll also have the AM Fight Club fitness advice for the week.
Join us for the AM Fight Club Show with Certified Trainer and Sensei, Julie Diver.

A Vision Becomes a Reality

Just returning home from a weekend full of education.
It is inspiring to me to hear stories of how people have made there way in this game we call life.
I had the privilege to meet Paul-The President and founder of Revgear.
His Story was an inspiration to me not only as a Martial Art/Fitness Coach but as a person with dreams of my own.
His story began with telling me he was once an accountant.. He was a disciple of Krav Maga. he began His search to improve the gear being use for the Krav program .After finishing that hurdle he then began marketing the equipment by driving in his convertible to each martial art school that he could. His dream became a reality through  much hard work and dedication.
His vision for putting the best of the best in one place to educate is now also a reality "Revgear University"!!
Coodles to you Paul!!
You are the definition of the word "SUCCESS"

Happiness

Today I want to address something that I think is pretty foundational for Happiness ,

If you want to be happy, you have to decide that you are going to focus some of your energy on you–just you. You have to decide what makes you happy.

We have to take care of ourselves first before we can take care of other people. We can’t spread happiness or kindness with everyone else if we aren’t feeling it ourselves, and we definitely can’t be expecting other people to pull us out of the doldrums. We have to look out for number one.

Now, I’m not talking about being selfish at the expense of hurting loved ones or promoting negativity toward specific activities or people. And I’m definitely not suggesting that we all go abandon our responsibilities at work, home, school, etc. or to fly to a tropical island for a cocktail. (Though I would be willing to do that if anyone wants to foot the bill…) hehe
What I think we all need to do is stop for a second and ask: “What have I done for myself   today?”
Remember Happiness is not a fitness goal..It is a By-Product of taking care of yourself!

Day of Rest

A rest day is not an admission of weakness. A rest day is an offering of gratitude to your body. A rest day is an opportunity for your muscles to heal and grow stronger. A rest day gives you the chance to push twice as hard the day before and the day after. A rest day is a chance to sleep, and spend time with your family. and read and go for a walk, and to remember there is as much beauty in trees and leaves as there is in weights and kettlebells.. A rest day is a gift you give to your self~
Remember you are not just building your body..You are feeding your soul!

Tips 2 Run

Beautiful Weather brings us to the outside for our workouts.  Just being in the fresh air rejuvenates our thoughts and Dreams.Have you thought about starting a running program but just not sure how to go about it ?Here is some tips that might help get you on the RUN!! Plan your schedule so that you're sure to set aside time to devote to your new running routine. When you are a beginner, don't worry about how many miles your are running. Focus on the number of minutes instead. Gradually you will begin to make progress and want to increase your workout. Don't plan to go too far or too fast right away-It's the #1 cause for injurys. Don't be afraid  to take some walking breaks..as you get stronger, you will begin to eliminate them.Try running 4 minutes walking 1 minute... continue for 20 minutes!Remember Change brings new opportunity!~battle on~

Life Lessons

What you do in your workouts can make a big difference in your life. The sweat and hard work you put in to your health and fitness can change who you are!
Fear and anxiety can make us forget our strengths. Remember you are no longer afraid of the burpees and the box jumps and that pull-up bar! Think about that when you feel the fear of your boss or your co-worker or what is happening in your family life.
You make incredible things happen in your workout...you can make that happen in your life as well!!
When you want to give up on that dream Remind yourself how you can run.
When you feel afraid to speak in front of a crowd Remind yourself that you have lifted heavier weights than your anxiety weighs!
When you take a step outside your comfort zone like asking for a raise or -stand up to someone or start your own business. Remind yourself when you thought 10 burpees were to much!
In most of our workouts we push ourselves beyond what we thought we were capable of.
You must allow yourself to do the same in your everyday life.
Remember the lessons we learn in our workouts have made us Stronger people.
You made yourself a better YOU!

"Motherhood" a SPORT??

Attention  MOMS!

Did you know that Motherhood is probably the TOUGHEST endurance sport there is?

Think about it....We as moms  have to wear many different hats during the day. Educator, Caregiver,

Chauffeur, Cook, Dishwasher,Maid...(Etc.) Now with this in mind, can you see how important it is to train our body and mind to go the distance day after day!!

Physical training fuels the body and sparks the mind...Staying educated and motivated will help you build  the momentum, strength and commitment to stay focused on your sport.

Becoming fitness Faithful

Becoming Fitness Faithful!

We start something and how many times do we throw in the towel?
Probably
More than we like to admit.

Here are a few ideas to keep you faithful to fitness..

Try to do activities that you enjoy.

Try to
Commit to another person ..also known as the "buddy system"

Make exercise a priority...make an appointment with yourself and do not cancel it!

Exercise first thing in the morning...by the time your half way though it you will wake up!

And before you know it its over for the day!

Exercise even if your tired..it will rev you up!

Make sure you track your progress

When your clothes start to feel better on you..its a great feeling.

Walk your dog if you don't have a dog use a pedometer .

The crowning of all of this is the best...

REWARD yourself .Buy something that makes you feel good!
There is no other motivation better than that !!

amfightclubtv.com

Nothing worked for me until I found this - so I HAD to share it with everybody.

I am officially down 4 dress sizes

It literally took me 2 weeks to achieve this! All thanks to a tip I received. I literally melted over 17 pounds without changing how much I ate. It was one of the easiest things I have ever done.

To get started - this is all you need. http://www.amfightclubtv.com/

My husband, kids, and friends cannot believe their eyes how a 40 year old could manage to look so good.

You have got to give this a try

Enjoy the rest of your day (I know I will)!!

PRIDE vs. EGO

There is a difference between our Pride and our Ego.
Pride pushes us to be our best. Ego is anxiety and weakness that demands us to look or perform better than anyone else.
Pride is what we feel when we celebrate something we didn't think we could do. Ego is that jealousy we feel when it looks like someone else did better than us .
Pride drives us to finish when we are tired...Ego ignores our body's signals and pushes us past our limits into injury.
Pride is internal..Ego is External.Constantly looking at the performance of others and judging our self to be the loser every time.
Taking our ego with us is dangerous to our body and our mind. It can leave us with a disappointed heart and damaged muscles.
Ego's can be tricky  things....It can whisper in our mind  convictions of how good someone else is doing. Its so easy to fall under that spell.
It takes practice ignoring the voice of Ego. But its worth it in the end...Because the promises of our ego are lies.
Remember PRIDE  is what we are after.PRIDE is what we want--that limitless happy feeling when we have done the very best we could! and did it honestly!!
